Rajput Kalyan Sabha, Mukerian (Punjab) organised a function to commemorate contribution of greatest warrior Maharana Pratap Singh. Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Virbhadra Singh addressed the impressive gathering.

Chief Minister emphasized the need for incorporating the ideology of Maharana Partap into ones life. “The heroism and sacrifice displayed by Maharana Pratap is legendary in the chronicles of Indian history. The history of India speaks of the bravery and self sacrifice of Rajput men and women who bravely fought to the last the invaders who attacked the nation. The same spirit of sacrifice should be rejuvenated,” he added.

He said that the need had emerged to work in close co-ordination and social harmony for the betterment of the society and development of the State.

Rajputs have carried a long tradition of fearlessness for the upkeep of their honour and that of their womenfolk.

The CM declared that his government has banned sex determination test in the Himachal Pradesh to check the alarming sex ratio in the state. Parental test had been declared cognizable offence under the legal provision.

The CM also revealed that any person giving information about such practices were also being rewarded with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
