Former Union Minister of External Affairs, Shri Jaswant Singh, today inaugurated the girls’ hostel building of Durga Mahila Vikas Sansathan, an organisation run by Kshatriya Yuvak Sangh (KYS).

The inauguration ceremony was well attended by more than 25, 000 people that included representatives of local government and community leaders. As guardians of the rich legacy of Kshatriyas, everybody pledged to contribute to the society and strengthen further the foundation laid by Kshatriya Yuvak Sangh.

The new complex will accommodate 100 girls in the hostel. The need for a girls’ hostel had been long felt by the community and it is hoped that the new hostel building will greatly contribute in giving more access to education for the girls in Sikar and adjoining districts. To prepare the institution for even more effective action in these areas of enduring significance, Kshatriya Yuvak Sangh has undertaken several initiatives designed to foster intellectual growth and development in girl students at DMVS.

The new hostel building was possible with grand assistance of Shri Prem Singh ji, (MLA), who donated a Scorpio car and offered a blank cheque to the institution.

Shri Maharia contributed Rs. 7 Lacs from Sansad Nidhi MP quota, Shri N S Manaklav contributed Rs. 5 Lacs from MP quota. Shri K D Babar, Shri Bhanwar Khan , Ms. Rajkumari contributed Rs. 2 Lacs each. Shri R. S. Rathore contributed 1.11 Lac, Shri Yunis Khan contributed Rs. 50, 000. Shri Ranveer Singh announced to construct the main gate of Sansthan at the cost of Rs. 5 lacs.

Contributions other than MP and MLA funds amounted to more than Rs. 20 Lacs. Shri Jaswant Singh ji also announced to sponsor the educational expenses of three girl students every year.

“Although activities and accomplishments such as these are impressive and provide a strong foundation for the future, the achievement of our longer-term aspirations demands that we maintain a visionary outlook, a sharp strategic focus and a clear awareness of the environment in which we pursue our goals,” said Shri Bhagwan Singh ji, Chief, KYS.

The chief guest also honoured Smt. Puran Kanwar (Jerthi), Smt. Anoop Kanwar, Sarpanch, Nathawatpura and, Smt. Shilesh Kanwar Shekhawat (residing in Japan) for their selfless contributions to DMVS.
